Non-monogamy.

Over the next decade we are going to see a massive cultural shift. There will be a large restructuring of the traditional monogamous relationship. I think this is a good thing and I think it is representative of a world where women are gaining more power and freedom. For most of human history, women could only achieve status and wealth through marriage and sex… and because of this much of the marriage and sex that was happening was happening out of necessity rather than love and desire. Today, women no longer have to marry to gain power, freedom, wealth and status in our society. Nor do they have to marry to have children. Because of this, women for the first time in history have choice and they have selection and they’re taking advantage of it (as they should).

I’m seeing a lot of female Don Drapers walking around and the men who were once quick to label them “whores” are now wanting to take them to dinner (knowing that they’re probably going to have dinner with another gent the following night). They’re rich. They’re powerful. They’re free. And, while this removes power from men, I believe it is creating a more open and honest society. People today are fucking and marrying because they truly want to fuck and marry not because they have too. And, I think some, will choose to do both.

P.S. One day these one minute writings will be a big book called “One Minute, Please.” Can I let you know when that day comes? You can say yes, here.
